Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust
Wednesday, March 22, 29, and April 5
Lent is a time of remembering that we are mortal. Our time here is indeed short. Join us for three nights of preparing for our own deaths.
Wednesday, March 22, The Experiences of Death, writing our obituaries, and the writing of our funerals.
(We might choose a date to go see the movie “The Last Word”)
On this night, we will have hand outs to help organize our own “Celebration of Life.”
Wednesday, March 29, “What’s Washington law about what happens at death” Bring your questions for Dan Ver Heul from Thornhill Funeral Home .
All questions welcome. For example: How long can the body stay at home? Do we have to use a funeral home? What causes the body to become stiff? How do you clean the body and why? All questions encouraged! Email them to Pastor Gen if you want them given Dan instead of asking him yourself.
Wednesday, April 5 “Writing a Will and other information your friends and family need” Papers handed out on the first and second meeting are used to help with the details needed for the legally acceptable document.
