Dear Veradale Friends and Members,
Here is the bulletin for this coming Sunday. All the bulletins are ready for the next four weeks and Joyce will send them out to you each week with the Zoom link. (I will not be sending or checking emails much for the next four weeks.) There is lots of room for being in person. We will be meeting in the hall as it has air conditioning and the forecast is for very high temperatures. Come to worship, cool down your body and warm your spirit! We will, also, be on Zoom and Facebook.
Debbie Sullivan, Helen’s Daughter, has posted to Facebook that the memorial for Helen has changed both the date and the place. As this may change again, please, contact Marvin for updated information.
We will be remembering Helen with a special service when we place her brick in the Memorial Garden. More information to come.

Hymn “The Gift of Love” (not in hymnal)
CCLI license #11038266
Though I may speak with bravest fire,
And have the gift to all inspire,
And have not love, my words are vain,
As sounding brass, and hopeless gain.
Though I may give all I possess,
And striving so my love profess,
But not be given by love within,
The profit soon turns strangely thin.
Come, Spirit, come, our hearts control,
Our spirits long to be made whole.
Let inward love guide every deed;
By this we worship, and are freed.
Response: Amen, amen, amen

Praise God from whom all blessing flow. Praise God all creatures here below. Praise God above, you heavenly hosts: Creator, Christ, and Holy Ghost.
Loving God, bless our offerings with your generous Spirit. With your blessing, we will fulfill your vision for our lives, our world, and this your church. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen

Young Hearts from Marvin Wilson
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 NRSV Translation
If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. For now we see in a mirror, dimly,[b] but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.
Message from Naomi Hanvey
Our Light moves into the World God Loves
Hymn: “Bless be the Tie that Binds” 393 (NCH)
1. Blessed be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love;
The sharing of a common llife
Is like that to that above.
2. Before our God we come
and pour our ardent prayers;
Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one
Our comforts and our cares.
3. We share each other’s woes,
each other’s burdens bear;
And often for each other flows
a sympathizing tear.
4. When we are called to part,
It gives us inward pain;
But we shall still be joined in heart,
And hope to meet again.
Benediction and “Love Round”
Love, love, love, love, Christians this is your call. Love your neighbor as yourself for God loves us all.
