We are worshipping in person (we have lots of room even with the chairs set at 6’ apart) and we will be on Zoom and Facebook.
As we transition into this phase of the Covid experience, I’m wondering: what are you longing for most? One of things I hear often is the longing for community. It is a blessing to be part of this community.
If you are curious about church membership, let me know.
Do you want to read scripture for this Sunday?
Please, keep in prayer.
Jerry who is struggling through his second round of covid.
Walter Wilson who is struggling with serious digestive problems.
Helen who is under the care of hospice.
Marilyn as she continues to heal.
Our church to be found by those seeking a community and spiritual practice like ours.
Our nation’s need to protect democracy.
Our world as many nations need vaccines and help with the climate crisis.
For those in-person, we still follow our Covid Careful process and are making plans for when we will go mask free. For now we continue:
- Enter through front door (church wings will both be closed).
- Only the one bathroom by the front doors will be used.
- Temperature and names will be taken at the door.
- Masks are required (we will have masks for forgetful folk). No Face shields unlessthey include a cloth mask which MUST be worn over the nose.
- Chairs are set at 6’ apart. Please, do not move chairs.
- The Bibles, Hymnals, pens, pencils, coloring pages are all removed from the sanctuary. If you want to print your own bulletin or bring your own Bible, that is fine.
- There will be absolutely no eating or drinking in the building.
- Singing in the sanctuary is with masks on and seated.
Remember: Faith Leaders and Leaders of Conscience which is an outreach ministry of our church is offering a short story contest called “Brilliant Blunders that Left a Mark.” See the information at the end — Hope you can start writing now!
The next exhibit of the art work from the “Celebrate Curiosity” Art Contest will be this Saturday from 11am to 3pm at Center Place for the AAPI Day event.
I hope to see you on Sunday!

Hymn: “Breathe on Me, Breath of God” 292 (NCH) verses 1, 2, and 3
1 Breathe on me, Breath of God, fill me with life anew, that I may love the way you love, and do what you would do.
2 Breathe on me, Breath of God, until my heart is pure, until my will is one with yours, to do and to endure.
3 Breathe on me, Breath of God, stir in me one desire: That every earthly part of me may glow with holy fire.
Response: Amen, amen, amen

Listening for God
Mark 4:26-34 New Revised Standard Version
He also said, “The kingdom of God is as if someone would scatter seed on the ground, and would sleep and rise night and day, and the seed would sprout and grow, he does not know how. The earth produces of itself, first the stalk, then the head, then the full grain in the head. But when the grain is ripe, at once he goes in with his sickle, because the harvest has come.”
He also said, “With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable will we use for it? It is like a mustard seed, which, when sown upon the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth; yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes the greatest of all shrubs, and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.”
With many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it; he did not speak to them except in parables, but he explained everything in private to his disciples.
Message: The Kin-dom of God is as if…
Our Light moves into the World God Loves
Hymn: Hymn “Come, Let Us Join with Faithful Souls” 383 (NCH)
1 Come, let us join with faithful souls
Our song of faith to raise;
One family in heart are we,
And One the God we praise.
2 Faithful are all who love the truth
And perfect truth proclaim,
Who steadfast stand at God’s right hand
And glorify God’s name.
3 And faithful are the gentle hearts
To whom the pow’r is giv’n
Of ev’ry hearth to make a home,
Of ev’ry home a heav’n.
4 O God of hosts, our faith renew,
And grant us, in your grace,
To join the songs sung by the saints
In every time and place.
