This Sunday, December 13, we will begin at 10:10am. We will gather on our usual Zoom and Facebook connections. Those on Zoom will continue on Zoom and those on Facebook will have a link to the Youtube channel where we will visit with Plymouth Church, UCC, Seattle.
This week at 10:10am Charlie will bring a message about joy for the lighting of the Joy candle and Scotty Patton will bring his story of the other wiseman. Do you have a story of the Other Wise One? Would you like to bring a message for next weeks candle of Love or Dec 24th for the Christ candle?
At 10:25am, we will visit virtually with Plymouth Church United Church of Christ. Those on Zoom, just stay on our Zoom and we will watch their service together. Those on Facebook, the link to register for Plymouth worship services:
You also have the option of viewing worship services via Plymouth’s YouTube channel, here:
Sunday, December 20, will be our poetry, song, and story Sunday. Let me know if you have a poem or story to read. You could read the lyrics of your favorite Christmas song and say a few words about why it is meaningful to you. Would you like to light the candle of Love and say a few words. The suggested scripture: “And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13
Thursday, December 24, 7pm, Zoom and Facebook Christmas Pageant. Bring your candle. Dress yourself (and your pets) as shepherds, angels, farm animals, Mary. Joseph, baby Jesus, the Inn Keeper, and anyone you can imagine was there. If you want a speaking part, let me know! We light the Christ Candle. Would someone like to talk about that Christ means to you? The suggested scripture is ““In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of people. That light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:1-5
Sunday, December 27, reflections on 2020 and hopes for 2021. Email me your prayers throughout the weeks of December and I will put them together of this last Sunday of 2020.
Zoom tips from Scotty:
Since some of you may not have used Zoom, here is a little how-to.
To sign onto Zoom, you need to have the Zoom app installed on your computer or smartphone.
- Once this is done, signing onto Zoom is super easy!
- The quality is a little better, both audio and video.
- We can see each other, and you can turn on your camera, or keep it off if you prefer.
Download the App:
- Smartphone: go to the App Store (iPhone) or Play Store (Android) and search for/install the Zoom Cloud Meetings app
- Mac and Windows OS:
o Go to https://zoom.us/
o Click the link SIGN UP, IT’S FREE
o Choose the free personal plan
o Download and install
Once you have the app installed, you open it and create a username and password. Usually you can have your phone or computer remember them. Then, when you want to join a meeting, just open the app, and click Join (in the Home tab). Then enter the meeting ID, and then the password, until you are in the meeting.
Here is a little hint: in the place where you enter the number, you see there is a little down arrow on the right – tap on it to see your recent meetings by name.
If you would like to do this but need help getting started, you can let Pastor Gen or Scotty know, and we will help set you up (email Scotty at firstname.lastname@example.org). You can also check out how-to videos on the Zoom website or on YouTube.

Message from Charlie Salt
Prayer at the lighting of the candle of Joy:
All: Joyful God, hoping in you brings us joy even when the nights seem very long and cold. As we light this candle, light within each of us a joy that the world cannot understand – the joy of life with you. Amen
