*Hymn: “Let Justice Flow Like Streams” 588 (NCH)
CCLI license #11038266
1) Let justice flow like streams of sparkling water pure, Enabling growth, refreshing life, abundant, cleansing, sure.
2) Let righteousness roll on as others’ cares we heed, An everflowing stream of faith translated into deed.
3) So may God’s plumb-line straight, define our measure true, And justice, right, and peace pervade this world our whole life through.
Response: Amen, amen, amen

Praise God from whom all blessing flow. Praise God all creatures here below. Praise God above, you heavenly hosts: Creator, Christ, and Holy Ghost.
Loving and Just God, bless all that we give that the warmth of your love, the mighty river of your justice, and the strength of your hope may be known through us. We ask as we follow the way of Jesus. Amen
Listening for God
“Wade in the Water”
Refrain: Wade in the water, wade in the water, children, Wade in the water, God’s gonna trouble the water.
1 See that host all dressed in white, God’s gonna trouble the water. The leader looks like the Israelite, God’s gonna trouble the water. [Refrain]
2 See that band all dressed in red, God’s gonna trouble the water. Looks like the band that Moses led, God’s gonna trouble the water. [Refrain]
3 Look over yonder, what do I see? God’s gonna trouble the water. the Holy Ghost a comin’ on me, God’s gonna trouble the water. [Refrain]
4 If you don’t believe I’ve been redeemed, God’s gonna trouble the water. Just follow me down to Jordan’s stream, God’s gonna trouble the water. [Refrain]
Amos 5:7-24 (The Message)
21-24 “I can’t stand your religious meetings. I’m fed up with your conferences and conventions. I want nothing to do with your religion projects, your pretentious slogans and goals. I’m sick of your fund-raising schemes, your public relations and image making. I’ve had all I can take of your noisy ego-music. When was the last time you sang to me? Do you know what I want? I want justice—oceans of it.I want fairness—rivers of it. That’s what I want. That’s all I want.
John 1:1-5 (The Message)
1-2 The Word was first,
the Word present to God,
God present to the Word.
The Word was God,
in readiness for God from day one.
3-5 Everything was created through him;
nothing—not one thing!—
came into being without him.
What came into existence was Life,
and the Life was Light to live by.
The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness;
the darkness couldn’t put it out.
Message: “That’s All that I Want”
Sharing Holy Communion
Pastor: We gather at this time mindful of the many who have gathered before us and those yet to come. We are grateful that we have this day together. We remember that Jesus walked among our ancestors and the Holy Spirit dwells within us today. We remember that Jesus asked for us to remember him when we eat bread and drink of a cup.
When Jesus and his friends sat together at a Passover meal, Jesus took bread… Do this as often as you drink of it in remembrance of me.” Let us pray.
All: Come, Holy Spirit come. Bless this bread and this cup and all who have gathered here. We offer ourselves as Christ’s body in the world today. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Prayer of Thanksgiving All: We thank you, God, for your presence known to us in the sharing of this meal and in the sharing of this community. We remember that you are among us still, in each of us, and in all of your creation. Bless us to more fully live as your people. Amen.

Hymn “How Firm a Foundation” Melody 407(NCH)
1 How firm a foundation, you saints of the Lord, is laid for your faith in his excellent Word! What more can he say than to you he has said, to you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?
2 “Fear not, I am with you, O be not dismayed; for I am your God, and will still give you aid; I’ll strengthen you, help you, and cause you to stand, upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.
3 “When through the deep waters I call you to go, the rivers of sorrow shall not overflow; for I will be with you, your troubles to bless, and sanctify to you your deepest distress.
4 “When through fiery trials your pathway shall lie, my grace, all-sufficient, shall be your supply; the flame shall not hurt you; I only design your dross to consume and your gold to refine.
5 “The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose, I will not, I will not desert to his foes; that soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake, I’ll never, no never, no never forsake.”
*Benediction and “What does the Lord Require?”
- What does the Lord require of you? What does the Lord require of you?
2. Justice, kindness, walk humbly with your God.
3. To seek justice, and love kindness, and walk humbly with your God.
